MovingWorlds is addressing the global talent gap. Our online platform and community connects people who want to travel and volunteer their expertise directly with social enterprises and startups in Colombia. Through our matchmaking platform and guidance, professionals from around the world can interact and plan real-life encounters with local social impact organizations, and discover their mutual benefits and learning by planning high-impact “Experteering” engagements. We believe in millions of social entrepreneurs to change the world!

Cómo se diferencia tu producto o servicio de lo existente en el mercado?
Much like match.com did to dating, we are using technology to effectively scale, legitimize, and empower connections by connecting people directly to social impact organizations. A similar service, Catchafire, does this domestically in the USA and is growing, but does not focus internationally (nor does it plan to). Additionally, we focus on empowering social enterprises and startups, not just focusing on the traditional NGOs and schools. Beyond matching, we also provide a guided facilitation process to ensure effective outcomes, and we provide training and resources to educate both organizations and people on Experteering best practice.
Describe el impacto social que genera tu solución
According to The World Economic Forum “Human capital will soon rival -and may even surpass- financial capital as the critical economic engine of the future.” Over 1M social impact Organizations and 90M micro-finance recipients indicate the need for specific expertise. Meanwhile, over 2M independent professionals are highly motivated to volunteer abroad, yet unable to find projects related to the area of expertise and within their budget.

¿Cómo es la escala de tu proyecto?¿Zonal, regional, nacional o globlal? ¿Por qué?
Global - our goal is to connect 10,000 'Experteers' to over 5,000 social enterprises in our first three years worldwide – which will equal about $120 Million worth of donated professional services. This will have two primary benefits: 1. For social enterprises, this access to talent will accelerate progress and impact. Still in development, our impact reporting tool will utilize indicators related to revenue growth, job creation, capital procurement, and self-reported mission progress. 2. For professionals, this will develop new levels of understanding for issues related to global development. Additionally, it will foster the creation of new skills including leadership and innovation, and inspire social entrepreneurship after they return home. Still in development, our impact reporting will be related to career development and progression, personal skill acquisition, as well as tracking 'Experteering' frequency. We are starting with a focus on Colombia, as that is where we have our second office and extensive network in the social entrepreneurship space
